Kerrie Smith's overall experience in small business management and in MYOB products means she can offer the best professional help you can
get with MYOB.
Kerrie was an MYOB Certified Consultant for 16 years, providing support and training to literally hundreds of
small businesses in the Hastings, Macleay and Manning areas of NSW. She has an Associate Diploma in Accountancy and a Certificate IV in Frontline Management. She become certified as
an MYOB RetailManager Professional in 2004. She is a member of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers and is a Registered BAS Agent.
Her MYOB career started in 1994, when a friend asked her to set up MYOB version 3 for a futon manufacturer in
Port Macquarie. She soon realised the potential of what has since become a phenomenally successful product, and made a committment to specialise exclusively in MYOB work. She has now branched
out into other products such as Calxa, RetailManager and Xero.
The businesses she has helped range from one person home offices to global multi-company operations, non profit
organisations such as Meals on Wheels, sporting clubs, manufacturers, retailers, wholesalers, nursing services, tourist operations, restaurants, government departments and many other types of
businesses.
Always one to be busy and self motivated, Kerrie has many years experience in self employment and small business
management. She understands the challenges of small business, and knows how to listen to people so she can provide understanding and help people reach their full potential with their MYOB accounting
systems. She has helped manage cattle properties, caravan parks, holiday flats, hotels, fire protection and building businesses, as well as being involved in the Port Macquarie
Chamber of Commerce and the Hastings Business Enterprise Centre.
Being very community minded, Kerrie has always filled her spare time doing voluntary work, such as playgroups,
nursing mothers association, rodeos, women's groups, teacher's aid in schools, cricket clubs, soccer clubs, school P&C's, helping with many community functions such as fetes, dances, triathlons,
festivals, markets and other fundraisers. Being a keen Rotarian for over 10 years Kerrie was President of the Rotary Club of Port Macquarie in Hastings in
2006-07. She was financial controller for the Port Macquarie Hospital Lodge Inc through 2004 to 2009, using Calxa to ease the Lodge through a difficult time until a new radiotherapy unit
was built in Port Macquarie.
Before GST and the new tax system was introduced in 2000, Kerrie was already well know in the area as the
"MYOB Lady". Since then, the widespread use of MYOB products has meant that many people have learnt to use MYOB effectively. But very few people know it the way Kerrie does.
She has now branched into the world on cloud accounting and file storage, and can provide immediate assistance
using LogMeIn Rescue. Alternative and effective accounting solutions available such as Xero are now becoming just as prevalant as MYOB.
